Algae Peel

what is an Algae Peel

Algae is one of the most abundant sources of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids that are readily absorbed to nourish and rejuvenate the skin. Made of 100% natural algae containing enzymes, minerals, and vitamins, which are massaged into the skin. It perfectly exfoliates old cells, which leads to skin rejuvenation and regeneration.

Benefits of Algae in Organic Skincare

Natural Algae treats problematic skin like acne, pimples, congested skin comedones, melasma, and hyperpigmentation. Based on the skin's natural cycle of healing, the algae accelerates this regenerative process, stimulating blood circulation and replenishing with large amounts of vitamins and minerals to give new, flawless skin. Turgor is restored, and age spots, discoloration, and rashes become less.

It is a microneedle base algae with a unique composition of spongin protein that has an antiseptic effect while acting on the epidermis to stimulate collagen production. Superficial blood circulation and skin protective properties are improved.

Treatment Selection and Consultation

Before your treatment begins, you’ll have a thorough consultation to determine which Algae peel treatment best aligns with your skin concerns and goals.

Then your therapist will cleanse and tone your skin and perform an in-depth analysis to determine your skin’s tolerance and reactivity. The next step is to prep your skin and then it’s time to apply the peel.

Your therapist massages the algae preparation into your skin for about 10 minutes (15 minutes on other parts of the body). This can feel like rough sand rubbing your face. Then your face is covered with the peel, to let your skin absorb the active ingredients.

After 15-20 minutes, the peel is wiped off and an SOS cream, sunscreen, and Blemish Balm are applied.

The Effects

The seaweed crystal remains inside your epidermal layer for 24-48 hours before dissolving.

During that time, your skin will experience mild redness, some people also report swelling. The first few days after treatment, you will experience some dryness in the treated area.

Subsequently, it will peel for 3-5 days. The seaweed crystal is stimulating the existing collagen and new epidermal cells are developing. After the healing process, new, rejuvenated skin will be revealed!

In conclusion, Algae Peel dissolves dead keratinized cells.

Down Time

Not everyone has the same reaction. Reasons for not peeling: Depending on skin moisture content and skin sensitivity, some clients peel a lot, some only a little, and some do not see any peeling. The severity of peeling does not mean better results. The result of the algae peel will still be the same in skin texture, acne, and superficial pigmentation. Always remember that each individual's skin and skin condition are different and must be treated as such.

Algae peel causes an inflammation response, which means it is sensitive, and prone to pigmentation and 4 – 6 Fitzpatrick clients have the risk of getting hyperpigmentation after the treatment, it's normal to go two shades darker after the treatment but your skin will go back to its normal complexion after the peeling process. Ask your professional for advice accordingly. Some pre-treatment topical creams and serums can lower this risk as well as, post-treatment topical creams and serums that can even out skin tone again if needed.

After Care

A Warm burning sensation for the first few hours after the treatment, if the area is touched in the first 24 hrs – 48hrs it feels like there are tiny microscopic needles in the skin, this will dissolve in the first 48hrs after treatment do not attempt to remove them as this must dissolve to get the full effect of the treatment. Avoid frequent touching of the treated area. Tight, mild itching and dry skin may also be expected in the first 7 -10 days after treatment. If the skin does peel on average, it will start on day 2 / 3 lasting up to a week after the treatment.

  • Cleanse with a mild cleanser that doesn't contain any active ingredients.
  • Best results are achieved when the skin is hydrated with a Hydraboost Cream post-treatment.
  • For sensitive skin, we recommend SOS Cream; for pigmentation, we recommend the Pigmentation cream.
